Hello!
Below is the supply list for the workshop. You can view the list here or download for your own files. Please note I have included a pre made kit from Jacquard for the sensitizer . There are several brands that put out this same type of 2 part kit containing Potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate. Photographer's Formulary is another great brand to use. If using this one you will want the traditional cyanotype formula and NOT the new formula. Read label carefully to make sure as the process is different. As you scroll through the list below you will see they have clickable links to many of the products. You can download this list or simply refer to it here on the site whenever you like. There is also a "quick list" reference pdf that you can easily print out and take with you shopping :)
Currently there seems to be a shortage on cyanotype kits. As of today , I have found that Bostic and Sullivan still have their traditional cyanotype kits here : https://www.bostick-sullivan.com/cart/501.html
Blicks says on their site that their Jacquard kits are due in on April 14th . As people have been waiting for them I would get my order in asap. The Jacquard kit is much cheaper , I think it also might be a smaller amount but we won't need more than this for the course.

Let's talk about how much you will need for just a second. This is largely going to depend on how many cyanotypes you would like to create in each segment of the course .I will warn that cyanotypes are an easy addictive rabbit hole to fall into happily. But papers, and additional acrylic sheets etc. can be acquired gradually . I.E. if you become addicted you will want to continue making these prints 24/7 and will need more paper . This is pretty much a 100% probability :)
For the sensitizer kit you will need only one 2 part kit . (Please note if you are purchasing Photographers Formulary instead of Jacquard do not get the "New" formula as it has a different process than the original)
Paper will depend on how many different paper types you wish to explore, how many of each project do you want to create with etc. If you are just beginning Fabriano Studio Hot pressed is an inexpensive choice that works very well and you can easily feel free to experiment and explore with. Once you get comfortable with the process you can move on to the more expensive fine art papers. This is going to be a personal artist choice. I have students that try every paper on the list and others that gradually work their way through the paper list once they are comfortable . All papers on this list are unbuffered and work for this process.
Acrylic sheets are readily available on amazon sadly because there was such a need for their production this past year. You will need sheets that are slightly bigger than your paper and 2 per paper sheet (like a cyanotype sandwich). If you want to work on 2 at a time you will need 4 acrylic sheets etc.
Ideally having 4 clamps on hand per cyanotype is ideal just in case you have a bulky material. 2 per cyanotype sandwich is the minimum you will want. This again is going to depend on how many you want to do at once.
Rinsing pans can be photographer's developing trays, or something like a cat litter box. Again your cost will depend on what you want to get and invest in. You simply need a tray/tub that you can handle and lift (with water )that is slightly bigger than your paper. You can also use plastic totes if you have them and are working outside . (they would be hard to lift up to your sink constantly :)
The other ingredients are mostly a pinch of this and a dash of that. We are creating wonderful recipes for our cyanotypes here, but no items need to be purchased in bulk.
See you in the course !
