Encausticology Home Stories in 3D Forms
Come with me on a three dimensional journey exploring encaustic off the panel ! Some would say that the symbol of a house can be a symbol for the self . You could also explore that it is a protective structure to ones inner being. Do your houses show dreams of the future , or memories past ? Are they a fictional story with created characters or ideas ? The basic house shape can be a powerful symbol in many ways .
Come with me to create fictional or real stories for these meaningful forms and learn how to expand on an idea to create a series of work built on a single idea expanded to a meaningful theme both in abstract and imagery.
What you will learn in this workshop:
- creating encaustic sculpture 3 dimensional forms
- encaustic techniques: including setup and basic encaustic practices to get started
- transferring imagery onto encaustic surfaces
- my special burn techniques
- creating lots of wonderful textures on the encaustic surface

Do we create the house forms in the workshop or are they store bought?
We create these forms ourselves in the workshop . They are very simple with just a couple of cuts with a miter saw (or hand saw with a miter box ) and some sanding. If you do not have the resources to do these yourself I have the full set available in the store here:
Are the images that you work with available for use in the workshop?
Yes ! All images used in the workshop are downloadable in the classroom. You are also encouraged to use your own photography (its easy and fun :)
Can I sell my art I create in your workshop?
If that is your wish , then YES please do !
Can I teach your workshop /methods?
I work very hard to develop quality content , techniques, and helpful tips to share with you in all of my workshops . And, you totally rock, so I would love for you to share YOUR best you with the world and NOT mine , thank you for understanding ! :)
