Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Last week we created encaustic monotypes on the heated anodized aluminum surface. This week we are painting on the paper directly on the heated surface ! There are so many opportunities to explore with this method of painting ! I am using a sturdy rice paper that takes the heat and catalyst wedge tool quite nicely.
Supplies I used this week:
Each week I list the supplies I used in the video here on the blog for you so that you can see and easily find the items used for that week's technique . If you purchase items from the links provided it sometimes generates a few cents in commission which goes right back in to creating videos for you on the youtube channel. It does not raise the cost for you in any way, and is the same link you would find on a regular amazon prime search . Thank you so much! Also , although the photos here can help you easily find the product . I also recommend that you look at your local art /hobby store to make sure you are getting the lowest price. Sometimes with weekly 40% off coupons basic items can be found at a better price. If you are receiving this blog post via email click on the live link to the post so that you can view the supply links . I am listing several options you can choose from when looking for an anodized aluminum surface. A small plate from Enkaustikos that can be placed directly onto the heated surface is a great economical way to get started printing . The larges printing surface is the Paula Roland hot box which you can find here : https://www.ventafume.com/roland-hotbox-for-encaustic/
Want to dive into more Exciting printmaking and encaustic and paper techniques ? "Encausticology Paper Journey " is packed full of exciting technique building projects AND handmade journals to house your works ! You can check out all of the details HERE
All workshops are self paced with no time limits or expiration dates so that you can watch and refer back to all of the course content for as long as you like !
I created the community over on Patreon in April of last year in order to bring small workshop content, and bonus content for artists each and every week at a very low price compared to a full workshop. There are a variety of levels to choose from and you can move up and down on those levels within the community. I loved the fact that ALL content from the beginning of the channel would be available to subscribers. This means that currently there are over 50 Wax on Wednesdays with step by step process commentary + a bonus photo encaustic series on the channel to watch for just 4.99. It is also largely due to the Patron subscribers on channel that I am able to continue to be able to bring you Wax on Wednesdays each week and I am very grateful for that community . I am also there to quickly answer questions that you may have about each week's project. There are other levels to choose from that receive even more creating content each month. You can check out the details for the Patreon channel HERE and I would love to have you join me over on the channel.
Hope you enjoy this week's photo encaustic painting project ! xo and happy creating :) Shari

Hello and Happy Wednesday! It has been a really typical late Spring thunder stormy few days here . Perfect time to continue the encaustic printing series on Wax on Wednesdays ! This week using some natural botanicals from the garden to create some one of a kind encaustic monotype prints on the heated palette.
