Happy Wax on Wednesdays !
This week I thought it would be fun to experiment with alcohol inks both on their traditional surfaces and on the Gel Plate with oil sticks. I received quite a few notes and questions from last week's monotype video on using the alcohol inks on top of the oil stick , so I thought this week would be a great opportunity to explore them further :)
Supplies I used this week:
Each week I list the supplies I used in the video here on the blog for you so that you can see and easily find the items used for that week's technique . If you purchase items from the links provided it sometimes generates a few cents in commission which goes right back in to creating videos for you on the youtube channel. It does not raise the cost for you in any way, and is the same link you would find on a regular amazon prime search . Thank you ahead for you support of Wax on Wednesdays in any way ! Also , although the photos here can help you easily find the product . I also recommend that you look at your local art /hobby store to make sure you are getting the lowest price. Sometimes with weekly 40% off coupons basic items can be found at a better price. If you are receiving this blog post via email click on the live link to the post so that you can view the supply links . Note : The Ranger alcohol inks are usually sold in color combinations of 3 as shown below. Usually if you find a single you will be paying a lot more. In the videos I am using almost all of the blues and some greens of both the Jacquard and Ranger lines . The Jacquard exciter pack is listed here as well as a larger set of the Ranger if you are really having a good time with them. Right now it is listed at 79.99 + free shipping which is a pretty good deal for 24 colors. Note: As of this posting the 5x7 Gel Press plate was sold out on Amazon so I have listed the 8x10 here for you .
Brand New This Month More Painting Videos!
This month I launched a series of mini workshops and tutorials over on the Patreon page . As of right now there are 4 different creating levels to choose from . The second level "Busy Bee" , is where you will receive all of the extra bonus footage, behind the scenes , extra content of the Wax on Wednesdays series. What I love about the Patreon page is that I was able to format it so that the higher level you subscribe, you receive all of the content for that level, PLUS everything in ALL of the levels below. I thought that was pretty exciting :) So that means if you join the "Movers and Shakers " (or level 3 )for example you get the weekly Monday Morning Warmup videos , PLUS weekly Wax on Wednesdays bonus videos, PLUS the workshops coupon ! PLUS you get access to all of that content for as long as you are a subscriber so you can refer back to content when ever you like! Levels start at just 2.99 a month. If you would like to check out the details on joining me for some more creating fun click HERE Blessings and happy creating ! Shari
