Wax on Wednesdays What If ?

Happy Wax on Wednesdays!
This week was a "FEEP" Day ( Fun Experimental Explorative Paint Day:) 
I had so much fun with the alcohol inks and the oil sticks , I wanted to try 
them on my favorite printing paper, the Hanshi Rice papers. 
This paper feels so incredible when it is dipped in encaustic it is definitely 
a match made in Heaven . 
I knew that I wanted to add  delicate stenciled patterns to these , but how
to get it all to work together the way that I envisioned it . The oil paint producing the
subtle faded aged effect , the alcohol ink providing a dash of bolder  brighter color that is 
hard to achieve using oil stick alone on the plate, and a nice representation of the stencil
patterns when both mediums are combined. Well this turned into more of a FEEP Week :)
but I eventually fell into a rhythm I was pleased with in these prints . 
It is easy to get carried away when printing on a paper that is so delicious and it
was hard to wait until I had completed my stack to get these over and
dip them in the encaustic !

Note : The Ranger alcohol inks are usually sold in color combinations of 3 as shown below. Usually if you find a single you will be paying a lot more. In the videos I am using almost all of the blues and some greens of both the Jacquard and Ranger lines .  The Jacquard exciter pack is listed here as well as a larger set of the Ranger if you are really having a good time with them. Right now it is listed at 79.99 + free shipping which is a pretty good deal for 24 colors. ​
